How to Create a GAS Dialer
Windows Dial-up Networking Set-up
- To create a gas dialer, double-click on My Computer
- Then double-click Dial-up Networking
- Double-click My New Connection
- In the space, type GAS as the name for the computer you are dialing then click Next
- Leave Area Code blank then type local Dial-up Number (please refer to the table)
Provided for your area in Telephone Number and choose Philippines (63) from the drop down menu then click Next
6. Type GAS then click Finish Button
How to Check Dial-up Properties
- Right click the Gas dial-up icon then click Properties
- Uncheck the Use Area Code and Dialing Properties checkbox
- Click Server Types
- Check only Enable Software Compression and TCP/IP checkbox
- Click TCP/IP Settings button
Mark the following:
- Server assigned IP address
- Server assigned name server addresses
- Use IP header compression
- Use default gateway on remote network
- Click OK
- Click OK to close the window
How to Create a Shortcut
- Click GAS icon using right mouse button then click Create Shortcut. GAS icon will appear on Desktop
How to Configure Web Browser (Internet Explorer)
- Click Internet Explorer from your Desktop
- To configure Internet explorer click on Tools> Internet Options
- Under the General tab, type http:///www.gas.com.ph to make GAS the default page of your browser
- You could click on Security, Content, Connections, Programs and Advanced to view the rest of the settings
- Within the same window, you can set the connection Internet Explorer would use every time you use it
- To check on the settings of your existing dial-up, click on Settings button
- Under the GAS Settings Window, do not check Automatically Detect Settings checkbox and Use a Proxy Server checkbox
- Then click on Advanced button
Note: If you have more than one ISP in a computer, we suggest that you mark the Automatically Detect Settings button so that your browser can be used in all the ISP’s you configured in your computer
Mail Servers: Eudora, MS Exchange, Outlook, Pegasus
Incoming/POP3: mail.gas.com.ph
Outgoing/SMTP: mail.gas.com.ph
How to Connect to the Internet
- Click shortcut to GAS from Desktop. Dialer will appear
- Fill out Connect Window:
Username: XXXXXXXX
Password: XXXXXXXX
- Click Connect
- Double click on your browser (Netscape or Internet Explorer) on the Desktop
How to Disconnect from the Internet
- Click Disconnect from Dialer
